I'll continue my "test" and other halogen lamps for the home. :) At this time in my test were lamps of smaller diameter, with cap MR11, because the devil pulled us to ceiling halogen lamps at different walls with different cap. This choice was motivated enough vague grounds, ostensibly because large size lamp MR16 (socket G5.3) have more power, and are heated more strongly, although brighter, and therefore on the wall, where it is necessary to make it light, we do 35 watt lamps MR16, and where only decorative lights, there have lamps rated 20 watts, but the MR 11. Now here are thinking, why all this should have been? But to alter the ceiling is not hunting, so you have to pick up the lamp of the reduced format. Then, when we did, we still had no idea that halogen spotlights can choose almost any of brightness and power, but the choice then was not so great, why have there something like that. Generally, as I remember, before halogen lamps for point lights were on 12 v, and there are now a normal halogen lamp at 220 volts, so you should also change the wiring, because the transformer thing is not very reliable - and are heated and lit. In addition, the transformers still question whether they will work with dimmers, but the lamp will operate at 220V. Compared with energy-saving, and led lamps, halogen lamps are pleased only price. So our choice - halogen lighting, and more precisely point recessed halogen lighting. But, because saving is not, and warming themselves, they are very good - too powerful to put dangerous if ventilation is inadequate.

This time I bought a test tube with the following characteristics:
Halogen MR11
Power: 35 W
Power: 220
Manufacturer: Russia, Elektrostandard
Works with a dimmer
Clear glass
UV filter

  1. Ranes :

I'm from halogen MR11 decided to give in relation to fire safety and change them at Spot R39, slightly more rastachiv hole under the lamp.

  2. Innovent:

I agree with Ranes, the probability of fire due to the use of these lamps is much higher than when using the same Spot R39.

  3. Ghosh:

Yes! And to correct a little title topic. And then on the box says "halogen", as in the title of Topeka - "halogen"
